Marine iguanas are the world’s only ocean-going lizard, found only in the Galápagos. As a result of their very small geographic area, marine iguanas are thought to be vulnerable to extinction. Introduced species such as cats, rats, dogs and pigs prey on marine iguanas. They are also threatened by the impacts of climate change.
