Wed 11 November, 5–9pm: Two-Colour Linocut
Take your linocut further by planning and printing in two colours. Ideal if you’ve carved before, though curious beginners are welcome.
The next step in linocut: working with two colours. We’ll look at the two main approaches, reduction printing (one block, carved back between colours) and multi-block printing. Then you’ll plan, carve and print your own two-colour image. You’ll learn about registration (lining the colours up), how colours interact when layered, and how to plan a design so the second colour lifts the first.
Level: some linocut experience helpful but not essential.
What you’ll take home:
Your carved block(s)
A small edition of two-colour prints
An understanding of registration and colour layering you can use on your own work
Details:
5–9pm · maximum six people · all materials, tea and snacks included
Top floor, South Bank Social Club, Ovington Terrace, York YO23 1DJ
